The primary responsibility of a security guard is to prevent crime and deter illegal activity. To do this effectively, they must maintain a visible presence on their assigned patrol route or station. This includes monitoring surveillance cameras, conducting regular perimeter checks, and interacting with visitors to the facility. In addition to preventing crime, security guards must also respond quickly to emergencies such as medical incidents or fire alarms.
