They must also possess strong communication skills to educate visitors about pool rules and regulations, as well as provide first aid in emergency situations.
Moreover, the job of a lifeguard requires constant vigilance and physical stamina. They are expected to constantly scan the water for potential risks or signs of distress among swimmers.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant watch over swimmers and the swimming area, scanning for potential hazards and signs of distress.
- Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to water emergencies, providing assistance to swimmers in distress or danger.
- Administer first aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) as necessary, and provide medical assistance until further help arrives.
- Enforce pool or beach rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all patrons, including proper behavior, swimming attire, and use of equipment.
- Coordinate with other lifeguards and emergency services personnel during more significant incidents or accidents.
- Perform routine pool maintenance tasks.
- Educate patrons on water safety, and proper swimming techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, rescues, and any other relevant information.
